PTFE-Filled Silicone Lubricating Grease for Medium Loads

PST-558 is a silicone grease that’s designed for demanding applications where contacting surfaces are under light-to-medium loads, and where wide temperature ranges are expected. This PTFE-filled silicone grease is comparable to Dow Corning Molykote 44 bearing grease (DC-44) and to Novagard G351 silicone lubricant.

PST-558 Silicone Grease Features

PST-558 has an operating range of −40°F to 400°F and an unworked penetration in the 260 to 310 range with a typical value of 290. This general-purpose silicone grease is water repellent and non-corrosive with minimal separation, excellent stability and dispersion, and low volatility. PST-558 silicone lubricating grease is non-corrosive to plastics and is ideal for conditions where long term lubrication is required.

PST-558 Silicone Grease Applications

Applications for PST-558 silicone grease include:

  • HVAC fans
  • fractional HP motors
  • chain drives
  • computer printer drives
  • home appliances
  • recreational vehicles

This PTFE-filled silicone compound is also used as a plastics gear lubricant, valve lubricant, corrosion inhibitor, and mold release. Additional uses include chain drives, starter motor overrun clutches, and caliper guide pins.
